Recess at Walter Bickett School

Left to right: Ginny Medlin, Elsie Clark, and Melanie Benton (class of 1962)

Can anyone identify the boys in the background?

Fun pictures, MZ!
I'm a little late checking the BLOG tonight (trying to enjoy some oranges with WF!).
BUT, here I am again, wanting to guess.

The two boys in the background, to right? The one ON the right, with blonde hair, just has to be Jimmy Keziah? And, not sure, but is the taller, dark-headed guy Ted Murray?? Bobby Williams?? Oh, well...just fun guessing.

One of the boys looks suspiciously like Johnny Reeder but I'm not sure...

I'm better on automobiles - the one in the background is a 49 Pontiac and the girls are sitting on a 53 Ford...

Rate me on a scale from one to ten...

How'd I do?

Does anyone know where these girls are?
Is Ginny Medlin still in Monroe? Where are Freddy and Melanie Beeson?

Mary Faith, I believe that Ginny Medlin Brock is still living in Monroe. I do not know about Melanie and Elsie. Maybe someone else can help us out...

Jim and Mary Eda, I do not know who the young boys are who are in the background. Jimmy Keziah is a good guess for the blond headed one...Jim, the cars are YOUR expertise--a #10 I feel sure!

Ginny Medlin is still in Monroe, married to Larry Brock. I taught her grandson, an absolutely beautiful and very bright, little boy this past year. Melanie Benton and Freddie Beeson are still married and live in Florida. I cannot remember where Elsie Jane lives now.

My brother, Mike, found this:
Mary Ellen Chandler Beeson

MONROE -- Mrs. Beeson, age 87, went to be with the Lord Friday, October 13, 2006 at the Sterling House, an assisted living facility where she had recently moved to in Florida to be near her son.

Mary Ellen was born July 4, 1919 in Luthersville, GA, a daughter of the late Mr. Herman Bradley Chandler and the late Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Chandler. She married Frederick Vaughn Beeson of Mt. Airy, NC in 1942, and they moved to Monroe shortly thereafter. They were married 46 years when he died March 9, 1988. Those who knew Mary Ellen will remember her for her love of the Lord, her service at First Presbyterian Church, a good joke, golf, bridge and flower arranging.

She is survived by one son, Mr. Fred V. Beeson, Jr. and wife, Melanie, of Okeechobee, FL; three granddaughters, Mary Carr of Sagamore Hills, OH, Allison Beeson of Nashville, TN, and Kimberly Beeson of Palm Beach Gardens, FL; and two great granddaughters.

The family of Mrs. Beeson will receive friends and relatives for visitation Tuesday night, October 17, 2006, from 7:00 PM until 9:00 PM at McEwen Funeral Home, 204 South Main Street, Monroe, NC 28112. Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Beeson will be Wednesday morning October 18, 2006 at 11:00 AM at Lakeland Memorial Park.

The family requests no flowers, and if desired, memorials may be made to The Refugee Ranch, 24240 Southwest Martin Highway, Okeechobee, FL 34974. The Refugee Ranch is a one year residential Christian Ministry to women who are addicted to drugs and alcohol, which was founded by Mary Ellen's son, Fred Beeson.

McEwen Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Monroe is serving the family of Mrs. Beeson.
