Guess who is hanging out at the wall...

Left to right: Wanda Holloway, Peggy Griffin, Mary Faith Milton, and Brenda Alexander

On the wall behind John D. Hodges School. I think I took the picture around 1954 or 1955.

You could NOT have posted a better picture. Just look at the excitement on Peggy’s face – she never lost that. Remember how Peggy would plan the Greensboro luncheons? How excited she’d be? I know we all miss her and that excitement.

I don’t want to get too dramatic here but that rock wall holds a very special place in my memory. Pinned down by enemy gunfire - thoughts of that wall and the comfort it provides has a calming effect. Trust me!

Like I said, “You could NOT have posted a better picture.”

I agree with Jim as respects Peggy! She is smiling down on us right now just as she always did.

What y'all don't know is that she is laughing at me and my 'bad hair day' =:-)

Marizell, I'm glad you have jumped into the mix on the blog! You are adding much-needed dimension and interest with your photos! Please add more but do check out my hair before posting :-)

I agree with Jim on 'the wall'. It has always been one of those vivid memories for me.

I remember that rock wall well - I have the scars on my leg to prove that I tried to run over it one time!
My guys will get a kick out of this picture. Thanks for sharing it, Marizell. it brings back great memories of John D. Hodges.
I was just looking at a picture of Miss Waters' first grade class - there were a lot of us in that room!
